MEURSAULT-CHARMES 1ER CRU LES CHARMES DESSUS

LOCATION
MEURSAULT lies in the Southern part of the Côte de Beaune.  The Eastern exposure is ideal, ensuring maximum sunlight during the day.

SURFACE
The Domaine GUYON wine area for MEURSAULT-CHARMES 1ER Cru Les Charmes Dessus covers 0.69 hectare (1.7 acres).

SOIL AND GRAPE VARIETY
White marls
100% Chardonnay

HARVEST AND VINIFICATION
Hand-harvested, the grapes are then carried in small boxes and sorted out upon arrival at the winery. 
The alcoholic fermentation is carried out at 18°-20°C in oak cask.  The lees are stirred in cask once a week.

AGEING
Ageing in oak barrels (30% new oak) and estate bottling after 15 months.

CHARACTER
Lovely golden colour.  Honeyed nose, very rich in the mouth with very good depth. 
Although tempting now, this wine can be laid down for another 10 years.

SERVICE
To be served at 12-14°C with fish in a creamy sauce, or poultry in cream.
